Homecoming!

School is going great. I'm getting As, one -A, and a B, without wearing myself out too badly. At this point, it's honestly not taking too much effort to get good grades. It's either that I'm really smart, or that the people who get bad grades just don't care. I'm thinking it's the later, although it could be a little bit of the former. I mean, OK, I could be "smarter" than other kids in some sense, but I think that it isn't really hard to do well in these classes. You just gotta do all the homework and some studying. It's not that bad.

Bad Day

Today wasn't a good day. It's not that nothing really bad happened, it's just that I'm in a horrible mood. It didn't help that I had my essay reviewed and graded today or that I had an algebra test...

Settling In

My eighth day of school. I can't believe it's been only two weeks and I already feel like I'm getting the hang of it. So far, I've turned in all my homework in time, done well on the quizzes, and have made a few friends. I'm getting the hang of seminar, and the lunches aren't really that bad. I like all of my teachers, and none of the classes bore me to death. So far, so good.

Bruises!

Monday went better than I expected it to. Usually Mondays go horribly for me, but nothing really bad happened, which I am thankful for. The only thing I'm not thankful for is the homework I have to do for A.P. English. Has anyone else ever done a "reduction" for a book? I wonder if it's called something else outside of my A.P. English class, because nothing comes up for it on Google. Dang... that means I'm going to have to come up with original ideas after all.

TGIF

I now know why school kids always look forward to the weekend. When I was homeschooled, it wasn't as much of a big deal. But now that I go to school, I can't wait to be able to sleep in past 7:00.

Day Two!

Salvete! (Hello in Latin.)

Day two was more stressful than day one, mostly I think because I was so tired. I couldn't fall asleep until midnight and had to get up at 6:25 again. I'm hoping I'll gradually be able to fall asleep sooner. Also, I was a little late for seminar today. I had left my backpack in my locker before P.E., and then after P.E. I had to rush and try to find my way back to my locker and then get to seminar in time. Didn't work out. It's so hard to get places when there are so many kids in the hallways. Oh, well. The teacher was nice enough to understand that I'm a newbie. Tomorrow, maybe I should just take my backpack to P.E. I don't know where I'll put it, but I really don't want to be late to seminar again.

The First Day

Bonjour! My first day of school went well! I only get lost once, I was able to open my locker, and no one made fun of me.

I started out the morning waking up at 6:25 and getting ready for school. That was hard, because I didn’t get any sleep at all. I just couldn’t get to sleep. I may have gotten some, but I couldn’t tell. Coffee helped, though!

Hiho, hiho, it's off to school I go!

First day of school. I'm waiting for my neighbor to pick me up at 7:20. She's also a senior at the high school. If I had taken the bus, I would've had to get up at 5:25. Instead, I had to wake up at 6:25.

I'll tell you how it goes!

Brand New Experience

Tomorrow will start a new chapter of my life. It won't seem like a big deal to some of you, but it will be quite a change for me.

For my senior year, I'm going to the public high school. It will be my first time going to a brick-and-mortar school ever. For the first time, I will have to be stuck in a school with kids my age. For the first time, I will have to raise my hand to ask a question in class. For the first time, I won't be both the smartest and dumbest in my class. I'm excited to go, but I will miss all the benefits of being homeschooled.

Homeschool to Public School

I've been homeschooled all of my life. Tomorrow, for my senior year of high school, I'll be going to the local public school, just to try it out. This blog will document my experiences.
